Wild & Weird

2025 SERIES

Postoperative, with both overwhelm and physical limitations present during the creation of this work, these pieces became a meditation to return to each day. Each work is tonal, limited in palette and often includes varying shades and gradients of the same hue. This technique was both a repetitive laying down of medium and a taking away. Only in this combination could I receive the outcome I wanted in each piece. This inevitably was a creative manifestation of my lived experience at the time: contained, driven only by imagination combined with memory, beholden by my physical capacities and a willingness to experience the process as equal parts mindful and restrictive.

This series is a note on the natural. The wild. The weird. The everyday. The observational. The imaginational.

What lives in and of the world, and what lives within the mind’s eye. Equally wild, equally weird.
